Bids via a website, e-mail or telephone will be taken through June 25 as the Equine Program at California State University, Fresno offers selected quarter horses in its annual auction.

Bids can be made through www.fresnostatehorses.com (where horses can be viewed), 559.278.4017 or 278-5623 andanner@csufresno.edu.

A preview day is scheduled 9 a.m.-noon June 19 at the Fresno State Quarter Horse Unit.

For each horse, there is a reserve price, below which it will not be sold, said Dr. Anne Rodiek, a professor in the Department of Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education and coordinator of the equine program within the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.

Rodiek said potential bidders can make appointments to see the horses individually or they can be inspected at the preview day.

All income generated from the sale of horses or breedings directly supports academic programs and equine science activities. Donations of cash, equipment and useable horses are also welcome, Rodiek said.
