Two California State University, Fresno professors have been awarded Coleman Fellowships for 2010-11 for developing and teaching courses that incorporate entrepreneurship learning.

Fresno State’s Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Coleman Foundation make the awards annually – this year to Dr. Mohan B. Dangi, a geography professor, and Dr. A. Sameh El Kharbawy, a professor of art and design.

Dangi has developed “Introduction to Environmental Entrepreneurship” and El Kharbawy

was recognized for “The Education of the Design Entrepreneur.” The courses will be taught in the spring 2011 semester, said Dr. Timothy Stearns, director of the Lyles Center.

Coleman Fellows receive a $5,000 stipend and meet regularly with 15 previous Coleman Fellowship awardees to discuss applying entrepreneurship in the classroom.

The Coleman Fellows program was developed at Fresno State and the first award was presented in 2005. It became a national program in January 2009.
