The American Humanics Program at California State University, Fresno celebrates “A Decade of Dedication” from 6 to 10 p.m Aug. 20 at Wolf Parks Lake, east of Clovis, with “An Evening on the Mediterranean” event that includes food, wine, boat rides and prize drawings.

Tickets are $50 for the general public and alumni; $25 for Fresno State students.

The event will recognize the philanthropic achievements of 10 individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the Fresno State’s Humanics Program in its first 10 years.

Dr. Robert Long, a professor of Philanthropic Studies at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, will be the guest speaker.

A silent auction will help raise funds to send participating students to the 2011 Management Institute in Orlando, Fla. Proceeds from the event will support Fresno State American Humanics’ community-engaged projects.

American Humanics is a certificate program offering students specialized training in nonprofit management through hands-on work with local nonprofit agencies.
