The Bulldog Marching Band, student leaders barbecuing Centennial sweet corn from the Gibson Farm Market and a flash mob helped liven up the first week of classes at Traditions Day on Thursday, Aug. 26, at California State University, Fresno.

The event encouraged student involvement and highlighted traditions on campus at the university celebrates the start of its Centennial celebration. College departments and student clubs and organizations set up informational booths for students.

Associated Students Inc. and the Division of Student Affairs also presented the Legacy Project, which highlights past student leaders and their service. Part of the project is a “Legacy of Leadership” exhibit about former student leaders in the Henry Madden Library through Sept. 17.

The highlight was a flash mob that began on the Free Speech Area Stage and quickly involved students and even President John D. Welty and Dr. Paul Oliaro, the Vice President for Student Affairs.
