Two award-winning writers with The Fresno Bee – both California State University, Fresno alumni – join Friends of the Madden Library on Friday, Sept. 10, to look back on coverage of university’s first 100 years.

The first Evening in the Round begins at 6 p.m. at the Table Mountain Rancheria Reading Room on the third floor of the Henry Madden Library’s Table Mountain Rancheria Tower. The event is the Friends group’s annual meeting.

Bee editorial page editor and vice president Jim Boren will be joined by columnist Bill McEwen sharing anecdotes and recounting the coverage of significant events since Fresno State opened its doors in 1911 as a teachers school.

Attendance is $75 for members and $80 for nonmembers.

Evening in the Round will be held with various guest speakers throughout the Centennial celebration year, which ends with the 100th Commencement on May 21.
