California State University, Fresno will receive $5.9 million from a final round of State Fiscal Stabilization Fund dollars from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act announced today by the California State University.

The allocation is part of $106 million designated to begin a limited admission of new students and partially restore course sections and student services for the winter and spring terms throughout the 23-campus CSU system.

Fresno State Provost William Covino said a plan is being formulated on how the funds will be used.

“The additional funding will allow us to begin admitting students for the spring semester, add course sections in high demand areas, and provide support services that are essential for our students’ success and progress,” Covino added.
