California State University, Fresno’s award-winning viticulture and enology program has lined up several projects for the university’s Centennial year,  beginning with visits to area Save Mart stores before each home football game.

From 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays before the seven games at Bulldog Stadium, students from the program will be available to discuss Fresno State wines in Save Mart select grocery stores in Fresno, Clovis, Visalia, Porterville and Hanford. The first game is Saturday, Sept. 4.

Each market will have a special display featuring the student-produced wine and Bulldog football. As part of the promotion, each bottle will have a $5 coupon attached to the neck. Coupons can be redeemed when purchasing up to four tickets to any Bulldog home football game this season.

The coupons also will be available with Fresno State wine purchases at the Gibson Farm Market on campus.
Coupons for discounted football tickets also bill be attached to Fresno State wines sold  at Vons supermarket stores and CVS Pharmacy locations.

Before the games, Fresno State Winery vintages will be poured at Touchdown Room Wine Tastings in the Bieden Field concourse for major benefactors of the Bulldog Foundation, which supports scholarships for Fresno State student-athletes.
