California State University, Fresno alumnus Rhiannon Fernandez added to the theatrical training she got while earning her baccalaureate degree learning how to use a sword in acting situations.

Fernandez participated in the 2010 CSU Summer Arts program to pick up her new skills. She talks about what she learned and about the Summer Arts program itself in a California State University Voices and Views blog post.

The Madera High School graduate made news in 2009 when she was one of the regional finalists in competition to perform in the American College Theatre Festival at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

She is pursuing her acting career in Hollywood.
