Marketing students at California State University, Fresno will get a taste of real-world marketing from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today as they partner with Chevrolet for the red carpet premiere of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze on in the Maple Mall in front of the Satellite Student Union.

With the theme “Affordable Fame” event presented by Dr. William Rice’s marketing students, the movie “Transformers” will be projected in a makeshift drive-in, complete with popcorn and cotton candy as attendees sit in the Cruze to watch. New models of Chevrolet’s Camaro and Equinox also will be on display.

Other activities include food and theme games such as guessing the number of volleyballs in the trunk of the Cruze, musical chairs using the cars to sit in and a raffle.

The marketing students will pitch to their Fresno State peers Chevrolet’s Student Discount deals as part of the academic project.
