The Fresno Community Chorus, directed by California State University, Fresno music professor Dr. Anna Hamre, will perform Brahms’ “Requiem,” Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” and Orff’s “Carmina Burana” in the 2011-112 season.

Auditions for new singers in all voice parts will begin Aug. 16 at Fresno State. Appointments can be made by contacting Hamre at ahamre@csufresno.edu or 559.278.2539.

“Requiem” and “Lux Aeterna” will be performed Nov. 13 at the Shaghoian Concert Hall on the Clovis North Educational Center campus.

Performances of “Carmina Burana” on April 21-22 will comprise singers from the Fresno Community Chorus, Fresno State and Fresno City College choirs, plus the Fresno Philharmonic.

The chorus, whose members are from Fresno and surrounding communities, will travel June 15-24 to England to perform.
