Fresno State is ranked seventh among universities designated Hispanic Serving Institutions in the number of undergraduate alumni volunteering for Peace Corps service. Eight undergraduate alumni are in Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Mozambique, Tanzania and Tonga. The list of Hispanic Serving Institutions is led by California State University, Fullerton with 27 students. The Peace Corps’ mission is to promote world peace and friendship and understanding between Americans and people of other countries. Fresno State’s participation is coordinated though the Study Abroad & International Exchanges office.
