Fresno State students, faculty, and staff came out in the hundreds to show their Bulldog loyalty at the March of Dimes March for Babies walk on April 14 at Woodward Park. With participants from across the Valley in attendance, Team Fresno State led the way at the 3-mile fundraising walk.

President John D. Welty, who served as the 2012 March for Babies Chair, announced that Fresno State teams raised a total of $56,369, surpassing the campus goal of $40,000.

“This is a very proud moment for Fresno State and is a true testament to the passion, commitment, and caring of our campus community.  I was delighted to look out at the sea of red shirts at the event,” Dr. Welty said.

The top fundraising team for Fresno State was “Team PJ” led by Dr. Virginia Rondero-Hernandez, a faculty member in the Social Work Education Department.  Her team of coworkers and family members raised more than $5,500.

A Facebook Page was created for Team Fresno State to serve as the main point of communication to the campus about our efforts.  For event photos, please visit the March of Dimes for Babies Facebook page.
