India’s Independence Day to be observed on campus Aug. 25

A San Joaquin Valley celebration of India’s 66th Independence Day begins at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25 in Fresno State’s Satellite Student Union (Maple and San Ramon avenues). Speakers include Shri N. Parthasarathi, India’s consul general in San Francisco, and Rep. Jim Costa, D-Fresno. The event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by Fresno State’s Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute and Indian Students Club, the State Bank of India in Fresno and local Indian organizations and groups.
