With the start of classes in the 2012-13 academic year on Wednesday, Aug. 22, nearly 1,100 students who choose to live in Fresno State’s University Courtyard spent a busy weekend (Aug. 18-19) moving in and getting settled.
Parents, families and friends of the students — many of them coming to campus for the first time — were helped by student volunteers in moving everything they’d need for the fall semester into rooms and suites that will become the students’ home away from home.
Special activities and shopping opportunities were scheduled for the residence hall students to make them feel welcome as they and another 21,000 students made final preparations for the new school year.
