Dr. David Szanton, co-author of “Mithila Painting: The Evolution of an Art Form” will be at Fresno State at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, to speak with 70 advanced placement high school students about Mithila painting. Examples of the traditional artwork from northeastern India are on exhibit through Oct. 26 in the Henry Madden Library’s Pete P. Peters Balcony Ellipse Gallery. Szanton is president of the Bay Area-based Ethnic Arts Foundation, whose artwork is the foundation of the exhibition. CONTACT: Joan K.
