The CSU search committee for a new president for Fresno State began its work Monday, Feb. 11, with an open forum in the Satellite Student Union. Trustee Peter Mehas, chair of the committee, explained that its role is to interview candidates and make a recommendation to the full CSU board for consideration. Thirty-three people – students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members – offered comments to the committee on traits they think are essential in the president who will succeed Dr. Welty.
