With Fresno State’s season opening football game at Bulldog Stadium falling on Thursday, Aug. 29. (a week night when classes are in session),  motorists around the campus are advised to plan ahead for traffic congestion and parking lot closure or impact:

  • The west part of Lot Q, located north of Barstow, will be closed all day. Students are advised to park in the Save Mart Center North Lot, which is used for overflow campus parking.
  • After 3:30 p.m., Barstow Avenue will be open only for one-way westbound traffic towards Cedar. Eastbound traffic to Maple and Chestnut will not be permitted until after the game.
  • Motorists exiting campus from the north side of the stadium will be directed to Barstow westbound toward Cedar Ave. Those exiting on the south side will be directed through Maple or Barton to Shaw Ave.
  • Because campus lots will be impacted, students and faculty arriving to campus after 3:30 p.m. are advised to use the Save Mart Center North Lot, and avoid Barstow Avenue.

The game is at 7:30 p.m. with tailgate lots opening at 4:30 p.m.

“Please follow the direction of traffic control officers,” said Amy Armstrong, director of Traffic Operations for the University Police Department.
