Fresno State will observe Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance as proclaimed by President Obama to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 by posting its national and state flags at half-mast from sunrise to sunset Wednesday, Sept. 11.The campus directive by University President Joseph I Castro affects flags flown at the Rose Garden, North Gym, Save Mart Center and at any Athletics venue where events are hosted by Fresno State.

“I join in President Obama’s call to the nation by encouraging the campus community to honor and remember the victims of September 11th and their loved ones through prayer, contemplation, memorial services, the visiting of memorials, the ringing of bells, evening candlelight remembrance vigils and other appropriate ceremonies and activities,” President Castro said.
