Renowned Mexican author Mónica Levín will speak at Fresno State, 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Education Building, room 140. Levín, a professor at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in México City, will discuss (in Spanish) her bestselling historical novel, “Yo, la Peor” (I, the Worst). The novel recreates the life and tribulations of Mexico’s premier feminist author-poet-critic, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Levín received the prestigious award Premio Iberoaméricano de Novela and other accolades for the book. The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures is co-sponsoring the free, public lecture with the Consulate of México in Fresno.
