This week’s CineCulture film with Fresno Filmworks will feature “Wadjda” at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Tower Theatre (815 E. Olive Ave.). The 100-minute film tells the story of Wadjda Mohammed, a 10-year-old girl living in the Saudi capital of Riyadh who struggles with the social inequality in her community. It is the first full-length feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia, and also the first film directed by a Saudi woman, Haifaa Al Mansour. Scholars Randa Jarrar and Huda Munjy will lead a discussion after the 5:30 p.m. showing. General admission is $10 and $8 for students and seniors. Sponsoring the screening is the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno. INFO: Dr. Mary Husain, mhusain@csufresno.edu.
