The Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale is seeking singers in all voice parts. Auditions can be scheduled through Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Fresno State’s Music Department Concert Hall (5241 N. Maple Ave.).

Now in its 57th season, Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale continues to grow. Comprised of a diverse group of singers from Fresno and surrounding communities, the 150-plus membership includes physicians, lawyers, teachers, students, retirees and homemakers, as well as professional musicians and music educators.

Regular rehearsals begin Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 7:30 – 9:40 p.m. Those interested are encouraged to prepare any short piece (even a hymn tune), along with sheet music.

On March 9, the chorus will sing Wagner Choruses with Ted Kuchar and the Fresno Philharmonic at the Saroyan Theatre (730 M St.) in downtown Fresno. On April 27, the chorus will sing Lauridsen’s Lux aeterna and Fauré’s Requiem at Clovis North High School’s Shaghoian Concert Hall (2770 E. International Ave.).

In addition to its regular concert season, Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Anna Hamre, toured in Austria, Prague, China, London and Italy.

The chorus has performed twice at Carnegie Hall and will tour in Greece in June 2015.

To set up an audition appointment, contact Dr. Anna Hamre at ahamre@csufresno.edu or 559.278.2539.
