Provost search nets four finalists

Fresno State’s nationwide search for a provost and vice president for Academic Affairs has resulted in four finalists who will visit the campus and meet faculty, staff and students in forums starting next week.

An 11-member search committee of university faculty, staff and students was chaired by Dr. Brian Tsukimura, professor in the Department of Biology.

The candidates are:

  • Dr. Bonnie Irwin, dean of the College of Arts & Humanities – Eastern Illinois University
  • Dr. Lynnette Zelezny, associate provost – California State University, Fresno
  • Dr. Scott Ryan, dean of the School of Social Work – The University of Texas at Arlington
  • Dr. Christopher Ingersoll, dean of the College of Health Professions – Central Michigan University

The new provost will succeed Dr. William A. Covino, who became president of California State University, Los Angeles in September  2013.
