The sold-out Central California Young Entrepreneurs Conference (CCYEC) from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 in downtown Fresno will bring aspiring entrepreneurs – about 1,000 high school students from across the Valley – to learn from established national and local entrepreneurs.
Hosted by the Fresno State Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in partnership with Fresno City College, the free conference will be at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center (2233 Ventura St.).
Catering to the young entrepreneur and featuring topics including business pitches, marketing and public relations, the CCYEC gives high school students the opportunity to learn about the benefits of entrepreneurship and what it takes to run a business.
The young entrepreneurs will share stories about starting and running their own businesses and hear from two keynote speakers: Viliami Tuivai, also known as “Coach V,” a consultant, life coach, team dynamics expert and speaker; and Johnny “Cupcakes” Earle, founder of the clothing brand Johnny Cupcakes, Inc.
“Giving students the chance to hear from young successful entrepreneurs like Johnny Cupcakes shows them that being an entrepreneur is achievable for everyone,” said Casey Lamonski, CCYEC event coordinator. “Our youth are innovative and have big dreams, attending the Young Entrepreneurs Conference will inspire them to shoot for those dreams and spark their entrepreneurial spirit.”
Registration starts at 8 a.m. followed by Tuivai’s morning keynote address at 8:30 a.m., then students will attend breakout sessions. Earle’s lunch keynote talk is at 11:15 a.m., and the conference at concludes 1 p.m.
