Joseph Delappe’s residency at Fresno State concludes with a public display of his project, “Drone: A Participatory Memorial” — a life-size replica of a General Atomics MQ-1 unmanned aerial vehicle — Friday, March 28 on the west lawn of the Conley Art Building. The names of civilian casualties will be read aloud and inscribed in the sculpture starting Friday morning and concluding during a reception from 5-6 p.m. at the site. Before the reception, Delappe will discuss the project at “Artist Talk” from 4-5 p.m. in Peters Building, Room 191. As the 2013-2014 Data and Technology artist-in-residence, Delappe recruited Fresno State students, faculty and local volunteers to accomplish this project. The free, public event is hosted by the Fresno State Center for Creativity and the Arts. INFO: 559.278.3056.
