Over the past two weeks, the Arne Nixon Center for the Study of Children’s Literature in the Henry Madden Library at Fresno State sponsored free field trips for 830 Valley children in grades 4 to 6. The visits are part of the center’s latest exhibition, “Turning Pages: Intersections of Books and Technology.” Children engage in a hands-on art activity conducted by university students enrolled in Dr. Paulette Fleming’s art education courses, in addition to experiencing the exhibition with trained docents. Each student receives a book to take home as a memento of the visit. Bus rentals, books and all art materials are made possible by the Arne Nixon Center. The final two field trips are Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. INFO:  Jennifer Crow at 559.278.8116 orjcrow@csufresno.edu.
