The Fresno State CineCulture film series presents a screening and discussion of “Ip Man” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 11 at the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center in the Student Recreation Center (Shaw and Woodrow avenues). The 106-minute Chinese production documents the life of one of China’s greatest martial arts teachers and the creator of the Wing Chun martial arts style. The Wing Chun or “push and pull” self-defense system reflects the Chinese culture’s belief that victory is found through perseverance. Ip Man’s most recognized and celebrated student is Bruce Lee. The discussant for the free, public event is Dr. Ed EmanuEl, Theater Arts professor. INFO: Dr. Mary Husain at mhusain@csufresno.edu.
