University HOPE (Housing OPportunities through Education), a 501(c)(3) that served Fresno and Clovis for over 15 years, is dissolving the organization and will donate $3,500 in remaining assets to the Bulldog Pantry. A check presentation will take place at the Bulldog Pantry (2311 E. Shaw Ave.) at 2 p.m. Sept. 19. The Bulldog Pantry is operated and maintained almost exclusively by Fresno State student volunteers. The pantry opened in 2007 in response to emergency food needs in the campus area. Each Saturday morning the Bulldog Pantry gives groceries to students and families in need around the community.
