A public “Celebration and Tribute to Legendary Hall of Fame Coach Jerry Tarkanian” will precede the Fresno State men’s basketball game from 5-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
The program featuring family, friends and former players will honor Coach Tarkanian, who passed away Feb. 11 at the age of 84. The event is sponsored by the Save Mart Center.
Complimentary game tickets for the contest vs. New Mexico will be given to fans who arrive between 4:30 and 5:15 p.m. (while supplies last). Tickets will be distributed at the north entrances to the Save Mart Center.
Speakers at the pre-game ceremony will include Tarkanian’s son Danny and Fresno State basketball players from the Tarkanian era. At halftime, Lois Tarkanian will speak about her husband.
