Hyperloop transportation, solar communities and the future of Central California will be discussed when the CEOs of  Hyperloop Transportation Technologies and Quay Valley Ranch visit Fresno State, noon Tuesday, April 7 at the Satellite Student Union on campus. Dirk Ahlborn, CEO of the JumpStartFund, which created Hyperloop Transportation Technologies last year, will discuss plans to build a five-mile Hyperloop test line near Kettleman City. The Hyperloop is a concept by Tesla Motors founder Elon Musk in which people could travel in tubes at speeds up to 760 mph. Ahlborn will be joined by developer Quay Hays who has proposed a 26,000 home solar power city in Kings County. Ahlborn and Quay expect to start construction on the hyperloop next year and for it to be completed by 2019. The event is free and open to the public. INFO: Dr. Ram Nunna, dean of the Lyles College of Engineering, rnunna@csufresno.edu or 559.278.2500.
