Fresno State’s award-winning wines will take center stage on Nov. 7 at the second annual Fresno State Winemaker’s Dinner at the Narrow Gauge Inn in Fish Camp, near the south entrance of Yosemite National Park.

Tickets to the Fresno State Winemaker’s Dinner are on sale exclusively to Fresno State Wine Club members through Oct. 1. Joining the club is free. Any remaining seats after this date can be purchased online by the public.

“We are excited about creating a tradition at the Narrow Gauge Inn and sharing this hidden gem with our wine enthusiasts,” said Kevin Smith, sales and marketing manager at the Fresno State Winery. “They can join us for the reception and dinner on Saturday night or stay for the entire Wine Weekend in the Woods.”

Tickets for Saturday night’s Winemaker’s Dinner include a reception and five-course gourmet meal featuring seared scallops, grilled quail and wild boar paired with Fresno State wines for $80 per person.

For those who wish to experience the full weekend, a two-night package beginning Friday evening is available for $110 per person and includes an evening under the stars with new Fresno State winemaker Matt Brain, a Saturday morning ride on the historic Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad steam train with hot-mulled wines, an opportunity to mingle with Fresno State viticulture and enology faculty and students and the Winemaker’s Dinner on Saturday.

This culinary event will feature seven Fresno State wines, including the Touriga, Sauvignon Blanc, Classic Chardonnay, Petite Sirah and Uva Doce Port. The Touriga and Sauvignon Blanc wines were awarded gold and silver medals respectively at the 2015 Consumer Wine Awards in Sacramento, and the Touriga claimed a best of class honor.

“The air is crisp, the fire is warm and wine enthusiasts are sure to enjoy this romantic weekend that includes wine, mimosas, steam trains and a gourmet meal in a beautiful mountain setting,” Smith said. “If you are not a member of the Fresno State wine club yet, be sure to join and purchase your tickets today.”

The Narrow Gauge Inn (48571 Highway 41 in Fish Camp) is offering special hotel rates for Fresno State Wine Club members. Single and double rooms are available at $119-$149 per night if booked by Sept. 19. To book, call 559.683.7720.
