In observance of Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance proclaimed by President Barack Obama, Fresno State will fly its flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, Sept. 11, to honor the innocent victims who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Flags will be lowered at the main administration flag poles at the Rose Garden, at the west flagpoles in front of the North Gym, at the Save Mart Center and any athletics venue where events are hosted by Fresno State. In issuing the campus directive, Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro encouraged the campus community to heed President Obama’s invitation to “participate in community service in honor of those our nation lost.”
