Undefeated U.S. Olympian boxer and Fresno State alumnus Jose Ramirez will headline the nationally televised “Fight for Water 5” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Save Mart Center.

A special pre-sale — two tickets for the price of one — begins at 10 a.m. today (Sept. 17) before tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18.

The pre-sale offer, which ends Thursday, Oct. 1, is only available online at ticketmaster.com using the password ‘BULLDOGS’ and at the Save Mart Center box office. Offer is good on all price levels except for table and floor seating.

The fight card, presented by Top Rank, the California Latino Water Coalition and the Nisei Farmers League, will be televised on Top Rank’s Solo Boxeo Tecate series on UniMas (channel 61).   

Ramirez, an Avenal native, has a 15-0 record and 12 knockouts in his career. He attended Fresno State in the fall 2010 and spring 2011 semesters.

The Jose C. Ramirez, Jr. Scholarship Fund was established at Fresno State last spring through the Fresno State Alumni Association. Donations are accepted at Alumni Association.

“With the fourth year of California’s historic drought, the timing for Jose’s big fight at the Save Mart Center is perfect to remind everyone to build the Temperance Flat Dam is now,” said Mario Santoyo, executive director of the California Latino Water Coalition.

“Jose is a true champion both in and out of the ring and our Water Coalition is very proud of what he and Bob Arum are doing to help us in this Valley,” Santoyo said.
