CineCulture and Filmworks present the American independent drama “James White” at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Tower Theatre in Fresno (815 E. Olive Ave.). Winner of an Audience Award at both the 2015 Sundance and American Film Institute film festivals, the 86-minute film (rated R) tells the story of 20-something James White, a native New Yorker who is on the verge of a breakdown as he attempts to care for his dying mother and to see past his coddled, upper middle-class life. As his mother deteriorates and the pressure on James builds, his volatile behavior puts him at risk of losing those who need him the most. Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for students and seniors. Visit http://FresnoFilmworks.org for full details. INFO: Dr. Mary Husain at mhusain@csufresno.edu or visit the CineCulture website.
