Amerasia Week at Fresno State begins tonight and runs through April 2 with the theme “Our Life, Our Origin and Our Home” diving into the roots of Asian culture, its evolution and its relevancy to modern times.

Presented by the student club Amerasia Organization, the celebration features various cultural performances daily from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union.

  • Monday, March 28 – Japanese culture
  • Tuesday, March 29 – Hmong culture
  • Wednesday, March 30 – Laotian culture
  • Friday, April 1 – Festival Night
  • Saturday, April 2 – Appreciation Night

All events are free and open to the public.

Amerasia is a diverse, multi-cultural student organization that promotes cultural diversity and cultural awareness at the University. It was launched by Professor Izumi Taniguchi, who began the Asian American Studies program in the 1970s, and two of his students.
