(March 31, 2016) —  Fresno State wraps up its March Match-Up campaign today with a special pledge from Mayor Ashley Swearingen at 4 p.m. at Fresno City Hall.

The drive to raise $50,000 to match a donation by Fresno-based accounting firm Morse Wittwer Sampson, LLP needs $6,400 by the end of the month — midnight today. The mayor and City Manager Bruce Rudd will be videotaped at the Mayor’s office making pledges and issuing their own final push challenges to help reach the goal.

In the past two days, donations ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 have been received as the deadline looms.

“We are nearing our goal as Fresno State athletics, academics and our community come together to support student success by reducing hunger,” said Mary Castro, wife University President Joseph Castro who is spearheading the drive.
