Fresno State is preparing for its 105th Commencement, set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Save Mart Center on campus. Commencement events begin Friday, May 17, with 23 college and school convocations and department and program celebrations throughout the day, including ceremonies for the University’s three doctoral programs. Four events will be held off campus and two events will be held the week prior: the new Bulldog Stadium celebration on May 12, which is part of a Safe Celebrating Campaign to discourage alcohol abuse and underage drinking; and the EOP Graduate Recognition Celebration on May 13. Some events require tickets (see link) but the main ceremony on Saturday does not. Eight events will be held Saturday, concluding with the 40th annual Chicano/Latino Commencement Celebration that night when U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera will deliver the keynote address.
