Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale announced the formation of Coro Solare, a new afternoon ensemble for adult singers. Membership in Coro Solare is an opportunity for less experienced singers to join other enthusiasts in singing fine choral works.

For its first performance, Coro Solare will sing Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at College Community Church Mennonite Brethren (2529 Willow Ave.) in Clovis. The group will be conducted by Dr. Anna Hamre, a longtime music professor at Fresno State.

Registration is open through Aug. 23. Regular rehearsals are Tuesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 6 at College Community Church Mennonite Brethren. Participants will meet with Hamre to determine part placement. Online music rehearsal aids are available.

“In addition to the chance to make new friends and participate in the performance of great choral music, singers can benefit from what research continues to show — the cognitive and emotional benefit of musical activities and the stimulating and engaging activity of singing in particular,” said Celeste DeMonte, vice president of the board for Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale.

Now beginning its 61st season, Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale continues to grow and offer new opportunities. Visit www.fresnocommunitychorus.org to learn more.
