The City of Fresno will proclaim Friday, Aug. 26, as Molly Day in honor of 2014 Fresno State School of Nursing alumna Molly Griffin, who died in a car accident Feb. 21, 2015. Griffin’s family will commemorate the day, which is her birthday, by asking the community to engage in random acts of kindness and post their experiences on social media using the hashtag #LiveLikeMolly, or by posting to their Facebook page. Clovis Community College will host a blood drive that day, followed by an evening fair and benefit concert hosted by Clovis Hills Community Church. Christian band Citizen Way will perform with proceeds going to youth scholarships. A scholarship at Fresno State in Griffin’s name was established last year.
