UPDATE (Sept. 20, 2016 — 6 p.m.): A pair of tickets to this Saturday’s Bulldogs football game against Tulsa will be given to the first 50 people donating 12 cans of food each to The Big Fresno Fair’s Feed the Need Food Drive 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow (Sept. 21) at the Bulldog Stadium Red Lot at Fresno State. The first 50 donors were already promised one free ticket per 12 cans to the Big Fresno Fair next month (same rules apply for the football tickets: one pair per person, limit two pair per car). Now they can add to that a pair of football tickets thanks to the donation of 100 tickets by Fresno State Athletics. The one-day food drive will be broadcast live by CBS47 from 5-7 a.m. and will feature several Bulldog coaches led by Tim DeRuyter and his wife Kara (11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.) and baseball skipper Mike Batesole (7:25 a.m.) in a show of support for the university’s Food Security Project and its Student Cupboard, which is one of the beneficiaries of the drive along with Community Food Bank and The Salvation Army. Also appearing at the drive will be soccer coach Brian Zwaschka and lacrosse coach Jessica Giglio (6:35 am for the broadcast); tennis coach Ryan Stotland (7:25 a.m.); and new wrestling coach Troy Steiner (8:55 a.m.). Fresno State first Lady Mary Castro will also be at the drive at 9:30 a.m. and live mascot Victor E. Bulldog III will pose for photos from 7-9 a.m. The Red Lot is on the southwest corner of Cedar and Barstow. INFO: Lauren Meckstroth at 702.499.7388 or Jessica Medina at 559.278.0866.
