Flags at half-staff to honor distinguished alumnus R. Stephen Heinrichs

Fresno State will pay tribute to R. Stephen Heinrichs, alumnus and vice chair of the Fresno State Foundation Board of Governors who died Sept. 4, with a half-staff flag tribute on Saturday, Oct. 8, the day of his memorial services in Burlingame. University President Joseph I. Castro ordered the tribute in memory of the 1968 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting who received the Fresno State Alumni Association’s Top Dog Alumni Award for the Craig School of Business in 2008. Mr. Heinrichs remained supportive of his alma mater as an alumnus of the Sigma Chi fraternity and served the Fresno State chapter as treasurer and as president. He was later international treasurer. In 2014, he was honored with the California State University, Fresno Foundation Award for meritorious services and contributions made to Fresno State and the community.
