The Fresno State Academic Senate released a resolution in support of campus diversity and freedom of expression. The Academic Senate consists of faculty members representing academic departments across the Fresno State campus. The resolution, which was passed unanimously, states that experiencing diversity helps Fresno State students learn tolerance, understanding, mutual respect and cooperation. The Academic Senate recognized that a university is place for open and civil expression of diverse viewpoints, and called upon campus and CSU leaders to provide a safe environment where students can focus on learning.
