The new deadline to apply for the Maddy Institute Legislative Intern Scholar Program is Friday, Dec. 9. Students can apply at http://bit.ly/2gFCPsY. Students participating in the scholar program will qualify for up to $6,000 in scholarship money. To be eligible, students must possess a 3.0 overall GPA or higher and have completed 60 units or be a graduate student in good standing. The program will place students in regional government offices, including in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., where they can earn college credit while developing public leadership skills and learning about the day-to-day operations of government and the political process. The Maddy Institute works to engage, prepare and inspire students interested in becoming government leaders or civil servants.
