Ash Wednesday service set for March 1 at Satellite Student Union

Bishop Armando X. Ochoa of the  Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno will officiate Ash Wednesday Mass at Fresno State at noon Wednesday, March 1. The public service in the Satellite Student Union will be followed by a light lunch outside — lentil soup, artisan bread and bottled water — for participants, hosted by Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro. The campus celebration for faculty, staff and alumni, which marks the beginning of the Season of Lent, is also open to the public. It is sponsored by the Newman Catholic Student Association of Fresno State and the St. Paul Catholic Newman Center. (Day parking permits for $3 are available at dispensers.
