Fresno State’s annual Preview Day will bring more than 9,000 visitors to campus — including 3,500 incoming freshman and transfer students for the 2017-18 school year and their families — to tour campus, meet faculty and learn about student programs and resources.

Preview Day activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Advance registration closes Tuesday, March 21, but on-site registration will be accepted at the Maple Mall (south of Satellite Student Union).

The future students will be introduced to faculty from all eight academic schools and colleges, learn about student services and can visit 100-plus student organization tables during a resource fair as well as tour campus facilities.

A variety of activities, workshops and speakers will give future students a glance at what lies ahead when they report for classes in the fall, said Phong Yang, director of the new Undergraduate Student Recruitment office.

Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro and Dr. Frank Lamas, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, will speak to the Preview Day guests at 12:30 p.m. when Fresno State ice cream samples will also be available.

The University’s Mexican folkloric dance troupe, Los Danzantes de Aztlan, will perform, and participants can have their photo taken with mascots Victor E. Bulldog III and TimeOut from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. outside the Henry Madden Library.

Free bowling, billiards and Xbox games will be available for guests from 1 to 3 p.m. in the University Student Union (lower level).

“Preview Day is one of the most important events a prospective applicant can attend,” Yang said. “It’s an early preview of what Fresno State will be like for them next fall. Historically, nearly 90 percent of students who attend Preview Day end up enrolling in the fall semester and this is the result of the collaboration of everyone from the Fresno State community.”

The event will be promoted on social media with #FSpreviewday. Parking is free on weekends.
