As part of the Fresno State Renaissance Scholars’ campaign to sell tickets for the Granville Home of Hope contest, the program will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the grand prize Belterra model home (2691 N. McArthur Ave. in Fresno). Each year, Granville Homes donates a house complete with luxury furnishings to the Home of Hope winner. Other prizes include a two-year lease on a 2017 Lexus. The Granville Home of Hope fundraiser supports various Valley organizations. To support the University’s Renaissance Scholars program, tickets must be purchased from a program representative or at the open house. Supporters can also leave their contact information online at bit.ly/RenScholarsHOH, and a Renaissance Scholars representative will follow up. At the April 8 open house, the public can tour the home and enter a free drawing to win a gift basket from the Fresno State Winery and a Mad Duck Campus Pointe gift card. Fresno State’s live mascot, Victor E. Bulldog III, will be on hand for photo opps from noon to 2 p.m. Also, the Taqueria Jalisciense food truck will be on site and donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to Renaissance Scholars. Tickets for the Home of Hope are $100. Winners will be randomly selected on Wednesday, May 3. The first 200 people to buy a ticket at the April 8 open house will also receive a buy-one-get-one-free offer to Fresno State baseball or softball in May. The money raised from the tickets will support former homeless and foster youth attending Fresno State. INFO: Home of Hope website.
