Africana Studies is conducting a talent search for up to 15 Fresno State students who love to sing. Students must submit a digital audition in video or Mp3 file with name, major, and a short statement about what music means to them by Friday, Dec. 1, to csufgospelchoirclub@gmail.com Singers must be willing to develop their voices, be  team players, and be available for all performances, rehearsals and meetings. Students chosen will perform at various university and community events, have opportunities for several professional development venues and will have the chance to blend their voices with their new musical family. The Gospel Choir was originally started nearly 30 years ago and has created an opportunity for Fresno State students and community singers to learn and perform material from historic and contemporary gospel and spiritual music. After a 10-year period of inactivity, the course returned in spring 2017 under the direction of Dr. Asia Smith. The auditions are to form a club and students do not have to be enrolled in the course in order to participate. All call backs will be notified by email. Upon notification, call backs must attend an orientation to learn more about the opportunity on Friday, Dec. 8.
