The Henry Madden Library will host an exhibition of local artist Corky Normart, a Fresno native and Fresno State alumnus, featuring cityscapes and landscapes of the region and a selection of his new work.

The exhibition, “Places You Know, Places You’ve Been: 66 Years of Art by C. Normart,” will be on view at the Leon S. Peters Ellipse Gallery in the Madden Library (second floor, north wing) from Feb. 10 through May 20.

“So often, recognition for creative accomplishment is reserved for artists outside the local community, but we see that great talent exists right here in our region” said Delritta Hornbuckle, dean of library services for Fresno State.”

Normart, a Fresno State fine arts graduate, works primarily in watercolor. His work also includes sculpture, stained glass and his design and restoration of the Great Dome over the Tomb of Jesus Christ at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. This project brought Normart international recognition, and elements of this commission along with his paintings, will be included in the exhibition.
