The Jewish Studies Program and Department of History at Fresno State will present a lecture by Dr. Steven J. Ross, professor of history at USC and author of several award-winning books including “Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America.” Ross will present a lecture at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, at Fresno State’s Henry Madden Library (Room 2206). The lecture is in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day. Ross’ focus on the little-known story of the rise of Nazism in Los Angeles will empower the audience to explore and understand how Jewish people in Los Angeles, and their non-Jewish allies, resisted white supremacy and fascism during a time of fear. Ross is the son of Holocaust survivors, and the first in his family to attend a university. The event is free and open to the public. INFO: Dr. Jill Fields at jfields@csufresno.edu.
