Local teachers score big with Bulldog Football on Sept. 29

Through a partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation, the Fresno State Athletics Department will take part in the foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers program to honor local teachers at the Bulldogs’ Sept. 29 contest against Toledo. Teachers from five different classrooms each won a grand prize of $500 in gift cards to purchase school supplies, a Bulldog prize package and 100 tickets for their students and family members to attend the Sept. 29 home football game. The teachers will be honored on the field in front of the entire Red Wave crowd at Bulldog Stadium. Ten runners-up each won $125 in gift cards to purchase school supplies, a Bulldog prize package and 10 tickets to attend the game. Winners were selected randomly by drawing from all submitted nominations. The more nominations a teacher received, the more chances they had to win. The Fresno State football team will thank teachers in our community that make a difference by wearing “Extra Yard” helmet stickers during the Toledo game.
