CSU Summer Arts begins the second week of its summer festival with a performance of Swords and Shakespeare at 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the John Wright Theatre. Audience members will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look into how the actors and directors create the illusion of danger both onstage and on screen. Performance artists will use a range of weapons including medieval broadswords to depict the realism and suspense of today’s fight scenes.

Join acclaimed actors and fight directors Amie Root, Jess Prichard, David Sterritt, Tony Carreiro and Marc LeClerc for an evening of intense movement based on the history, romance, and action of William Shakespeare’s work. Tickets are available at www.csusummerarts.org or at the John Wright Theatre box office. INFO: Mariah Walton at mwalton@calstate.edu.
